Course Maps
You'll start out with a .75-mile ocean swim in the Monterey Bay around the world famous Cement Ship, followed by a scenic 13-mile bike course through Aptos, Seascape, and Rio Del Mar. A 4-mile beach run caps what is commonly described as one of the best triathlon experiences that California has to offer.
Swim Course
The .75-mile swim starts on the north side of the Cement Ship and finishes in front of the Transition Area.
Bike Course
The 13-mile bike course winds through the Aptos hills, Seascape and Rio Del Mar neighborhoods.
The course will be marked with signage and arrows on the pavement. CHP will guide you through major intersections. This is an open course. Please follow the rules of the road and you are responsible for your own safety. It is your responsibility to know the course. Start at the Esplanade
Left turn at the round-a-bout to Aptos Beach Drive
Continue onto Aptos Beach Drive
Left turn onto Rio Del Mar Blvd.
Right turn onto Sumner Ave.
Left onto Seascape Blvd.
Right onto San Andreas Rd.
Right onto Sand Dollar Dr.
Turn around at the top of the hill.
Left onto San Andreas Rd
Left onto Seascape Blvd.
Right onto Sumner Ave.
Left onto Rio Del Mar Blvd.
Straight through the round-a-bout at the bottom
Left turn at the parking lot
Right back onto beach access road to Esplanade

Run Course
The 4-mile beach run is an out-and-back from Transition north to New Brighton State Beach. There will be a water station at the turnaround. Shoes are required.
